Has anyone ever expercience there computer restarting when trying to read a thread. It has happened to me 3 x in the last week. I am not hitting the power supply accidently either. Maybe I am loosing it...

Do you have a virus or a worm by any chance??? Have you run norton virus scan on your computer.

Or do you have any loose wires???

Elite has been crashing my netscape for the past week or so. No other web page does, so there is something different here. I wish they'd fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

is it only on elite fitness? downloading files or opening up webpages anywhere else doesnt do it? how about other forums that use vbulletin? does it happen on any of them?

Why not try 1 days on 1 days off. Before when I was a newbie I was training 7 days a weeek. But in time you understand that the muscles grow during REST not training and you cut back. Dont do more than 8 sets per excersie max.

Yes it only happens on this board. I just upgraded to IE 6.0. I will go and click a thread and my screen goes black and restarts.

I know that you said it only happens when your looking at EF, BUT- from my experience, this usually happens when the power supply in a computer is starting to go bad. It will momentarly stop putting out its rated, say 11.2 volts on its 12v side and 4v on its 5volt side. This causes the processor to reset itself. If you computer is more then say 2 years old it might be worth while to go drop the $25 at CompUSA or someplace and get a new power supply and see if that does the trick.

before you do that, I'm with Naut- update your .dat files, and then run a full system scan to look for any trojans or virus' that might be lurking in your machine.

good luck

He's right its either a virus or a failing power supply(more than likely)

Just putting in my input since I had a similar problem before. The fact that it happened on EF was coincidental, since it happened in a few other places as well. Apparently my CPU fan had died and I didn't know about it.

Turn off your computer, open the case, and then turn it on. If the little fan where your CPU is supposed to be is not spinning, then you've found your problem.

Otherwise, check for viruses and then check out your power supply as builtbc83 says.

If you're using XP go here:

support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];Q320299

copy & paste it into the address bar.

It might be the problem.

Are you using XP? If you are, your PC will restart on errors unless you manually turn that feature off.
