Compitition posing music...

I'm not a competitor, but if was to compete, Crystal Methods "Name of the Game" would be a the top of my list.

Never Posed or Competed but I have seen a couple and always thought VAN HALEN - Dreams would be good

Starts slow than ramps up with lots of peaks in the beat to hit the pose.

then slows at the end...

World turns black and white
Pictures in an empty room
Your love starts fallin' down
Better change your tune
Reach for the golden ring
Reach for the sky
Baby just spread your wings

We'll get higher and higher
Straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher
Leave it all behind

Run, run, run away
Like a train runnin' off the track
The truth gets left behind
And falls between the cracks
Standing on broken dreams
But never losin' sight
Spread your wings

We'll get higher and higher
Straight up we'll climb
We'll get higher and higher
Leave it all behind

So baby, dry your eyes
Save all the tears you've cried
Ohh, that's what dreams are made of
Ohh, baby we belong in a world that must be strong
Ohh, that's what dreams are made of

SOLO

We'll get higher and higher
Straight up we'll climb
Higher and higher
Leave it all behind
Higher and higher,
Who knows what we'll find

And in the end,
On dreams we'll depend
'Cause that's what love is made of

i have competed in two shows.

whatever it is remember one thing........ pick a song with a big beat ever 4 seconds........ it gives you enough time to hit a pose with enough time to transistion smoothly inbetween each one. anything less and you look like your in a hurry or dancing. any slower and you look cofused and like a robot.

i posed to a song by Zao with nothing but piano........ then to POD's rock the party.

but right now one of my favorites to see is Drowning pools let the bodies hit the floor........ plus anything by DMX

No one still competes to "The Crying Game"????

i used mixed techno song from the blade soundtrack with some other stuff. i tried to upload it to the my EF acct...but its not a recognized file typer apparently. sorry...

rock songs get played out too quickly. generally turns into a "pace back and forth and hit most muscular thing". that wont distinguish you from other competitors, if it does, probably not positively.

i remember hearing AC/DC thunderstruck 3x in on class alone once. terrible.

Im with Bfold on this one, what happened to the Crying Game, or even Whitney Houstons I will always love you.

I'd like to see someone pose to Tchaikovsky's Dance of the sugar plum fairies from the "Nutcracker Suite" or perhaps Mr. Roboto...

Ah I have been putting some thought into this and came up with a few others.

Rikki Martin-Livin Lavida(sp?) Loca
Shania Twain-Any man of mine
NSync-That damn BYE BYE BYE song

or if you didnt want to go that route there is always the "Theme Song" Route. You could go with the Miami Vice(for those that remember the show)theme song. Or if you a flaming homosexual there is always the Mister Rogers Neighborhood theme song. Just some ideas from a powerlifter who doesnt know dick about choosing music to pose to.

On a serious note though, I watch bodybuilding shows often and the music that I think goes best with the routines that I thought were good either contained Rap music(which normally annoys me)
or classical instumental type music(which annoys me even worse)
They just seemed to work well with the posing IMHO.

My Sacrifice - Creed

i agree. creed's music tends to be made well for it. strong guitar portions that break in after slower parts. good for transitions poses, classical poses etc. and then <bam> into the more dramatic or powerful poses.

When I competed in Martial Arts....I did musical forms to a few different songs. When I walked in the ring and introuduced myself, my team, and my kata to the judges...I had my voice on top of the music...so it sounded kinda creepy...

Just a thought

I was in Coconuts today and saw this Cd titled "Angelica" ... was a hybrid of rock with opera. Thought that might sound good for posing. Steve Vai contributed to it. Hm ... maybe I should go buy it ...

How do you guys think Slipknots "wait and bleed" would be? Its pretty intense throughout the entire song.

I also love Nelly's 'number one", BUT you would have to have balls to play that one, and you better win. Dont think il be using this one lol.
