Competition Heels...

I am doing a figure comp next year and need some help from some of the ladies who compete. I am 5'8" and was wondering how high of a heel I should go for? Also if anybody has any websites where I can get buy some good quality heels pls let me know. Thanks!!!

Type of heel depends on the federation - for NABBA and
WFF, they're still wearing platform heels across the board; for NPC, they're wearing 3-4 inch/non-platform heels.

That being said, balancing on a 4 inch stiletto is a feat in itself; I have the added feat of doing poses like a double-back bicep w/ spiked calf in heels, so I started using a cone heel. Cone heels flair at the bottom, so you have a more stable base to balance on. Here are a couple sites:

http://www.lisasshoes.com

http://www.sexyhighheels01.com

http://www.worldshoeoutlet.com

http://www.fitforaqueenfashions.com

http://www.queenfashions.com/rhinesto.htm

I've purchased from both lisasshoes.com and queenfashions.com with no problems.

Thanks Warlobo & JJFigure!!!

I do have trouble walking in heels and the highest heel I ever walked in was about 3".
I guess my legs are slightly longer compared to my upper body but what I am most concerned about is balance. The show is WNBF (INBF) and they don't specify what type of heels to get. JJ, I will look into the cone-heel..no way could I pull off stilettos!
:D

I'll take a look at these links, thanks! BTW, we only have one round in this comp...a two piece so I am also looking at various sites for a decent two piece. I am thinking of going with jagware. www.jagware-posingsuits.com

Has anyone bought anything from here? Or would anyone be willing to recommend a good designer/site?

Unfortunately, I did purchase a suit from jagware - don't do it. I ordered it 3 months in advance of comp; received it week of comp after calling several times, and it was not put together well at all. It looked nice but fell apart.

I buy all my suits from bodybuildingbikinis.com - they are based in New Zealand, but I get my suits promptly and the quality is outstanding. I've even had them do custom designs for my last two suits and the suits are better than I had hoped for. Just let them know when your comp is, if you need the suit right away. I love the stretch velvet they offer, BTW. Their prices are also very reasonable, but posted in New Zealand dollars, so you'll have to do a conversion if you're price comparing. Good luck!

I'll check them out JJ. Thanks for the warning on jagware. My comp isn't until May so at least I still have some time to shop around. You have been very helpful :)
