So yesterday it was a great day (little on the hot side) for a Hawg ride. So I get the bike out get my gear on and decide that hey might be nice to have some company. So I call a friend on mine (girl before you ask: 1st rule no guys on the bike) to see if she would like to go. Now this girl has been bugging me to take her for a ride since I got my bike. She tells me that she is going ove to a friends house but will be ready to go in a couple of hours and would call me. So I go meet my brother get some dinner and then wait around for a while. Well no call from her around 9pm I tried calling her with no answer (original call time 3:30pm) so I didn't leave a message.

So my question to you all is this. Would you agree to do something with someone that you have been wanting to do for a while then just not call back even to say "sorry I got caught up with my friends can I get a raincheck?"

AHHHHHH why can't people have the courtesy to let you know one way or the other what they are going to do. Sorry just a pet peeve of mine.

I hate that shit!

I hate flakes, so I make it a point that if I set up an appointment with some one, i keep it or call and let them know I can't make it.
 
No, common courtesy would be someone putting a disclaimer before all Coldblue threads stating the proceeding may cause headache, drowsiness, vomit, and/or possible suicide.
 
That is rude not to call back to cancel if she got caught up in something else.....

Can I have a ride on the bike while you speak with your accent??
 
a guy i was real good friends with had lost his license for a while because of his own DUI stupidity. i live about 2 hours away from him. every few months, we'd set up a weekend where i'd come pick him up on friday and he'd come up for a weekend of steaks, offroading, and drunken fun. good times, and i had known this guy since we were maybe 8.

last august, we had plans for me to go snag him for the weekend again. i left on thursday and went down to my grandmother's and spent the night. had my son with me too. i gave him my grandmother's phone number (neither of us had cell phones), JUST IN CASE anything came up. we were planning on meeting at his place at about 1pm.

10am he calls and says he forgot he had made some plans to help a girl he worked with move. we discussed it for a little bit, and we pushed back the time to meet up til about 3.

3pm i'm at his place, he's not there. i left a note on his door telling him where i was (took my son to the park up the road), and tried to kill time, figuring he was maybe running late.

by 630, i couldn't wait any longer. left a note on his door telling him what time i left to head home and asked him to call me. havn't heard from him since.

another friend of mine ran into him a week or two later. he said "dude, that was real fucked up what you did to Mike." guess he hung his head a little and said "yeah, i know." and nothing else.

fuckin asshole.

No that is common courtesy. I aways do that, and expect the same.
 
The not calling part would be a bother, but guys flake on each other all the time. All anyone has to say is "I met this chick" and everyone generally understands.

Maybe you guys should find more gay friends

Flaking is one thing, to not call is another. Unless something major happesn (ie. hit by bus) I will call and let them know I am not going to make it to a pre-planned meeting. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I fully understand that things come up, but that is no excuse to not call ahead of time if possible, or at least as soon as possibel to apologize. This is a big enough deal to me that I have stopped being friends with people who aren't considerate to other's time.

On a side note she finally called and didn't even apologize. BITCH.

Let's see, most of them I know from college. Most of them are younger than I am like 4-6 years or so which explains some of the flakiness. Why do I talk to them......Fuck if I know. I ran into her while out so it is a little hard to not be polite especially since I was a little drunk.

No I need to get a lot of money. Buy a section of British Columbia, build a viking lodge, and move there to train every day without distraction. No offense to the ladies but women suck and I am damn tired of trying to figure out what the fuck they really want. So back to being a total hermit.

Hey to each there own. And for the record you probably don't know him but in real life he is one of my best friends and a very cool guy.

What's gay about that handle? it simple means an obsession with large breasts. Which he certainly does have.

Probably not any more gay than Anya or Scotsman if you think about it.

Oh come on I am always polite :evil: as for being nice especially when I want to schtoink them that only happens when I am drinking as well.
