Cold weather and outside Dogs..

How cold is to cold for short hair (boxers)dogs to be outside??

It's 45 degrees and they have a metal shed with blankets and bedding to keep them warm.

Thinks its too cold?? They love being outside but I hate to leave them outside overnight if it's a little cold.

I don't think 45 is too cold for a dog.

Maybe when it gets in teens.
I think it all depends on what they get use to.

boxers are a moderte climate dog. They don't like being too cold, or too hot. Keep them iniside bro. My dogs would HATE being left outside.

Yeah, I ended up bringing them inside anyway.

They love being outside though, I was mostly worried about a temp drop.

Here in Texas it can change vastly within a couple of hours.

depends on the dog really. dogs are pretty hardy for the most part. as long as their house is small enough and insulated good enough that they can warm it with their own body heat, they're generally ok.

we had a lab/setter mix when i was a kid. he was an outdoor dog. it would have to be below 10 degrees AND there be snow on the ground for him to go sleep in the dog house, or raining. otherwise, he'd be laying in the yard curled up in a ball. he was happy that way. we'd bring him inside and he'd stay for a while, then he'd want out and wouldn't want to come back in again.

i miss him. best dog i think i've ever had :(
