I do not believe this map is accurate. I've lived in Arkansas for 47 of my 48 years, and never once heard anyone refer to a soft drink as "Coke" unless it was a Coca-Cola. I've heard "pop", "soda", "soda pop" and "soft drink".

i live in mississippi and people around here call it drink, and yes, i have heard it called coke and someone wanted say a sprite...i was like wtf?

I say soda since I am from Connecticut but I live in Atlanta and most people call it Coke here regardless of flavor. I guess that might be because Coca Cola is based here. btw trying to figure out that map sucks when you are color blind.

To me Coke is a brand that can be used for referring to cola. Soda includes Coke and other flavors, and pop is how I address my dad.

Back in the 50's when my dad was in the Air Force he was in Biloxi , Miss.
In a cafe, he ordered a Dr. Pepper and the waitress said, "honey, we don't serve mixed drinks". LOL He explained and she said, "oh, a Coke!"

She brought him a RC Cola.......

We hit people who admit to being from cali too. Reminds me of a joke.

Theres a Washingtonian, a Californian, and a Texan, drinking around a campfire.
Texan downs his bottle of tequila throws it up in the air and shoots it then says "we've got plenty of tequila in texas"
Californian takes a sip of his wine throws the bottle up, shoots it and says "We have plenty of wine in California"
