Codeine, OTC in the US?

Here in Canada we can get Tylenol 1, over the counter. It's only 8mg but by law they need to add 2 other ingredients...ie 325mg of tylenol or asprinin and 15mg of Caffeine. Through a simple extraction method we can take out the tylenol.

Tylenol 2-4 are by prescription only.

What about the US, is Tylenol 1 by prescription only?

All codeine products are presription only in the US, but in some states you can sign to get opium based Paregoric and it's derivatives.

Kind of funky logic.
