this is one of the best, most interesting documentaries i have seen.

it tells the story of the cocaine trade and the empire it built in south florida. there are interviews with the prime players, the most notorious hitman, and the police / government officials who were involved in bringing it down.

miami in the 80's was more dangerous than dodge city or any other wild west town at its worst.

the violence and money that arose from the cocaine trade is mind boggling.

i found the preview on youtube. once i saw that, i knew i had to watch it...so...i put it on netflix, received it yesterday, and watched it today.

it won a bunch of awards, i think.

it has the 2 hour documentary, about 15 minutes of deleted scenes, and a 15 minute interview with one of the godmother's boyfriends.

it's long.

Some of the movies glamourize it... even when it's violence, it's a glamourous voilence... hot chics every where... gravy boats filled with coke (my favorite from BLOW... god how I wanted a gravy boat filled with coke - that's pimp)

I can't wait to see this to see how hard core and sad these peeps are.

a commercial (DL) dvd is a dvd-9. a standard dvd-r (SL) is 4.7 gigs.

when people rip a movie and put it on the net, they put it up as a dvd-5, not a dvd-9. why? because most people do not want to burn double-layer discs.

I espescially liked the Attorney that was obviously still rolling in dough that had to do some time and surender an obvioulsy 'TOKEN' 400k... please... his house was worth 10million.

Snake. He served as a 'House' attorney to all these drug smugglers... had to give up his law license and do some time, but shit.. it was obvious he was still a baller.
