COC Grippers

So i finally got mine from ironmind today. I bought a #1 and a #2 right away I could close the #2 about 10 times with my right and about 2 times with my left...lol

So does anyone have any advice on routines or techniques to close these things.....my goal is to close a #3 within a month with my right and maybe two months with my left...

it is A lot of hard work, daily gripping but very rewarding (although you go through a few slumps were you go backwards.........then zoom forward in progress)

PM me if you want details

if not.........

Strap holds (pinch a belt or strap that is holding weight plates),

over crushes (get a lighter gripper and try and break the thing by squeezing it and crushing it to bits......for about 5 seconds)

Negatives (get a harder gripper.......#4, cheat close it and smooth out the release over 5-10 seconds)

file down the contact point on one of the grippers(the #2) handles making the range of motion longer.......when you go to close a normal gripper you will feel like you have another 1/2 inch in you.

dont do reps.

find a proper closing position(a sweet spot if you will),,........you will know when you find it

well..a friend of mine told me this setup:
#1- 15 reps
#2- 5 reps
#3- max
i've closed the #2 and have closed #3 3/4 of the way. tb

how big are your fingers and your hands? that has alot to do with it.....ronnie coleman CANNOT CLOSE THE #2 ...

You know what reall helps the hand grips, thick bar and statis hold IMO, to get ready for Bluegrass that is all I did and my strength went through the roof on my grip. Keep work on the two for reps and try doing negatives with the #3, you know close it with both hands and try holding it with one hand

Yup, the reason being that I could nearlly close the no.3 straight out of the box, with no grip training and much less strength than Ronnie.

I"m sure Ronnie uses straps for a LOT of movements.... Mr O probably doesnt need much functional grip strength... lol

He has quite a powerlifting background, also you don't build a body like that without having good overall strength imo.

out of the box????????holy fuck that is huge.....the grippers need to be broken in dude.......my bro and i worked on breaking the #3 in before he mashed it....

Never broke it in, just tried it. Repped no. 2 many times the same day out of the box. Also having huge hands does help a lot imo.

but if that were the case... he would be able to close the #2, no?

grippers take about 30-60 squeezes to be "seasoned" (worn in)

but many grippers vary in strength, there have been reports of #3's almost the same strength as #2.

not every one has the coordination and neural strength to close grippers
