Clomid effect gains if used on cycle?

Will clomid diminish gains if used as an anti estrogen during your cycle (during the regular cycle, not post cycle), versus using nolva? I prefer using clomid because I've used it before and it works...I've never used nolva. However, if nolva is more effective, and since I have some on hand....
