Clockwork

when you say "clients" dont you mean "johns"?

no I don't do therapy in my office, I do it in a completely seperate room, more isolated nad private, also more relaxing for the clients. When I am in my office I am either reading notes or journals or reviewing court mandated cases, nothing real exciting. Right now is a pretty slow time but around holidays (I.E. Christmas and thanksgiving) it gets real busy. Something about the weather that really dictates people's moods.

I think it's the lack of sun light...always puts me in a shitty mood.

I think it's a lot to do with stress and weather. I deal with a lot of court mandated drug users/alcoholics. I hope to get out of it someday but as of now it pays the bills. In my state if you are EVER convicted of a crime involving drugs or alcohol you are required to pass a "counseling" class. Some people have previous convictions and failed rates on the group counseling, therefore; they get sent to people like me. I am a top target since I use to work for the state and know a lot of people there AND the fact I am probably one of the only males in the state to do this field. Most males I work with are a lot higher on the totem pole than me and have their Ph.D.

I'm not a drug user but it seems a lot of drug use occurs around Christmas or maybe that's just when people get stupid and get caught. I've never really seen that side of the world other than the people that walk into my office

Lots of peeps suffer depression around the holidays leading to the inevitable swan dive into the nearest bottle of booze. I've done it before.
