Classic car for a daily driver?

I'm looking for something different (enough of these BMWs, Hondas, Fords, etc). Don't care about performance, as I enjoy cruising speeds. Looking for a classic that is low maintenance (if there is such a thing) and fairly reliable as I would like to use it quite often during the summer. Preferably something in the 20-25k range.

Opinions?

I have a restored '68 Camaro to sell you :) Full restored and just coming out of paint in 2 weeks and ready for the road. Everything new frame up with 4 wheel disc brake conversion and suspension, and a 400hp 327 in it.

It's got your name on it brutha!!

70 Chevelle SS 454
69 GTO - heh heh 69
70- 72 Challenger
67- 82 Corvette
69 Charger R/T
70 Trans Am
95 Geo Metro

have you noticed the buick regals or oldmobile cutlasses 2 doors of the early/mid 70's?

with either the buick or oldsmobile 350 engine and turbohydramatic transmission, they were sharp lookers with mechanical reliability that rival new cars for driving pleasure......and a bargain compared the carmaros and firebirds and mustangs everybody seems to want.

Dont look at classic cars for a daily driver!

SoreArms is absolutely correct. No matter what you do, what kidn of shape the car is in there's always something, always.

I used to drive a 71 chevelle around, that thing always had issues.

Are you kidding homes? Lots of classics were made so much better mechanically than cars today. All you had to do was put gas in it and change the oil and that bitch would last you decades. Nowadays, everything goes shitty in 6 months.

I understand what you're saying, but what I meant by "low maintenance" is a classic that I don't have to tend to after every 20 mile ride. I'm looking to drive it around on average of 30-40 miles everyday, if even that much. Drive to the gym, supermarket, meetings here and there, etc. Just little trips.

1964 Belvedere w/ a 426 raised B Hemi super wedge, with Dual Hauley Double pumpers and the original torque flight transmission. Put a blower on that bad boy and you'll be chirp gears all the way through....

My alltime favorite oldie is a 54 chevy. I had a 53 that I was restoring. The big fat boats...Yeah baby!
Anyway, at that price you can get one thats totally restored, with a new drivetrain, and modern frills like AC.

lol my "daily driver" has no interior, no heat, no AC, no back seat, but she will make it a quater mile down the road in about 12.5 seconds!
