CKD, results anyone?

So I'm currently looking into doing a ketogenic diet and someone pointed Lyle McDonald's book.

I was wondering if anyone could post their results of doing this kind of diet.

Thanks,

Eve

Im in my second week of CKD. It takes a lot of dedication. My strength has not decreased whatsoever, but it might be cuz of the Clen. I have lost what I believe is only fat. I dont know for sure, because my muscles are deflated due to the no carbs. Ill let you know next week when I get back to a regular diet.

I understand there are different types of CKDs. One of them is the 'ketogenic diet', the other one is bigonopus(sp?). Which one are you following?

Read my CKD manual (cyclo ketonic diet) which is what lyle's book is about: CKD MANUAL
It's in the Mr.X's Articles section.

Results are usually around 16-20lbs. fat loss w/ in the first 10-15 weeks, really depends on your bodyfat and experience levels.

I'll check it out. As far as experience you mean with ketogenic diets in general? I have none which is why atkins seemed so tempting.

Last time I did my bodyfat test(i put little reliance on the scales but thats all I had), was 24.1%. I can definitely see myself losing a good 8-10lbs of "fat" still but I'm having a miserable time doing it with my regular 40/40/20 eating slightly below what seems to be maintenance for me (1700cal).

Thanks for the info!

Eck-
I have been doing a CKD for about a month and a half. I have enjoyed it so far. If you lift weights and you are on the atkins diet you won't be able to keep your strength up.

The beauty of the CKD is the carb-up(refeed) days. For me, it's easy to get through the week on my diet, because I know once I reach the weekend I'll be able to indulge in whatever carb containing food I want 'till I get sick :)

I've had good results so far, I've lost about 10 lbs and am looking much more cut up than previously. This diet encouraged me alot because I could actually see results pretty quickly (like week 2 of diet)

By experience I mean experience w/ the ketogenic style diet. In your case at 24% bodyfat, my CKD manual would be perfect due to the 1 day only carb up.
