Hi everyone , im currently in my second week of the ck diet and have a concern, my diet is pretty tweaked as in fats and protein intake. My question is can i have crystal light drinks and sugar free jello on this diet ??? thanks in advance! GOD bless AMERICA!!!

Doesnt Crystal light contain carbs? (I think they are trace so just keep under 20)

I had jello when I did it. Loved it too :-)

No carbs in Crystal Light or Sugar-Free Jello.

Crystal Light is 5 calories per 8oz serving. Some of us drink a gallon of that shit a day.

Raspberry Peach & Raspberry Lemonade are probably the best flavors I've tasted

this is what s2000 says about aspartame

"Use sucralose (Splenda), Ace-K, saccharin, or stevia, preferably in that order. Splenda is not metabolised for the most part and is very close to eating air. The only one to avoid is Aspartame, as many people get kicked out of ketosis on it. Be careful not to overload on sweeteners however as your body expects sugar to enter the blood stream, and even though it doesn't with fake sugar your body releases some insulin anyhow in expectation. It shouldn't be an issue unless you pour it on.

Also, kool aid is a BAD idea. it has citric acid in it which can be worse than aspartame, and then amount of sweetener used with kool aid is large (may cause insulin spike). Aspartame is very easy to avoid, but citric acid is almost impossible to avoid in beverages. even flavored water usually has it in it. Some people are more sensative than others. Diet Dr. Pepper is about the only pop that doesnt have any (but it does have aspartame)."

what am i wondering is there anyone who has been on the ckd diet and successfully was in ketosis while having sugar free jello as well as crystal light or should i drop them from my ckd menu ???

i use both of them, and the only time when i've noticed my blood glucose levels above 80mg/dl (ketonemia), was when my caloric intake was more than 12x my bodyweight (in this case 2100) and i didn't exercise.... simply stated, if my caloric intake was high, eating SF Jello and Crystal Light could knock me out of ketosis....

so as long as you keep the cals low, you shouldn't worry ..... as for me, i always have two gallons of Wyler's punch (a cheaper version of crystal lite) in my fridge, and i drink plenty of it too
