CKD Friendly restaurants?

I am on Mr. X's CKD plan to a T and it works f'in awesome. Problem is my friends will always want to go out to eat like on Fri or Sat nights and I never know what the hell to order that would not knock me out of ketosis. Obviously steak would be a good choice. How about ribs? Would the rib sauce ruin it? Any other food selections are appreciated. Thanks.

Last week was pathetic I was eating somewhere that didn't have anything ckd friendly really so I got a tuna melt and just scraped the tuna off the bread and ate that. Had a full plate of fries in front of me too (place has the best fries), but I resisted hehe.

Hmm

Ribs have too many carbs, any meat, that isnt marinated and basted. Italian places are good because you can add oilive oil to your steak.

Any meat, eggs, shrimp, not alot of there.

Steak/ribs/pork chops, however a lot of sauces are full of carbs and marinated in sugar based substances. NOT GOOD. I would recommend some grilled food w/o sauce, ex: TGI Friday's you can get a steak (plain) and/or chicken breast w/ skin grilled w/ some mayo on the side or olive oil.

Sounds like you're a hard worker scraping tuna off the bread, just make sure you don't intake the carbs. I think if you order a hamburger plain w/ no cheese you can just have mayo on the side and dip the meat into mayo.

You could consider doing the depletion workout on Friday right before you go out...This is what I do o Fridays and I can party, eat and not sweat it on Fri, Sat nights

any steak house is good...they usually put butter or oil on the meat before they cook it

Actually, the funny thing about steak houses that they marinade the meat in sauces full of sugar. At one time I thought they did not until I brought my ketone meter and tested before and after the meal, and guess what, I was out of Ketosis. Then I asked the cook and he said that it's about 30g sugar per steak that it gets marinaded in, so even if only 7 stay they can kick you out of Ketosis. Moral of the story, ask for meat w/ no sauce say you're diabetic and you can die, that will get them to do it right.

wait, you bring your own ketone meter to restaurants??? that's f'in hardcore.

i wanna be hardcore too, can you recommend one that's not too expensive but still practical? (i don't care about glucose levels, i'm not diabetic)
