Circumcision & HIV transmission

Dr. JK

New member
I have read several studies conducted on circumcision VS non and it seems that circumsion does help in reducing the rate of transmission, due to the lack or foreskin in which the virus binds to.

Does anyone else have any info on this? I am curious is circumsion an added barrier to the virus therefore even further reducing the risk of transmission. Not preventing, but reducing!

I would not think it is from the virus "binding" to the foreskin but the foreskin becoming torn while doing the dirty therefore providing an entry point.

Actually what I read stated that it "binds" to the foreskin and then due to it's existance in the area it finds it's wat to the blood stream.
