christmas day ME bench + PR

christmas day ME bench

6 board: 225x5, 255x3, 285x3, 305x1, 325x1, 345x1, 365x1 (new PR), spotters pussed out after this. my bench probably couldn't take 375 slamming around in the uprights anyways. could fall and kill me. the liftoffs were hard and it was hard to stabilize the bar, but other than that, the presses were fairly easy. i think i could've gone 385-400 with the right equipment/people

DB rows: 65x8, 70x8, 70x8(last 2 sets were with normal BB grip instead of palms in)

plate raises: 45x10x3 sets

as soon as i can get a squat rack to bench in, some heavy heavy weights are going to fall

i would really like a squat rack for christmas, a cheap weider one from walmart for 138 bucks, but i didn't find out about it until it was too late. damnit
 
Good job on the PR man...

What ROM do you have with a 6 board press? I don't think that I would have but about a 3" ROM with mine...

it's not very far. only a few inches. helps locking out at the very top though.

there's a big difference between a 6 board and a 3 board
 
well this was a very low ROM movement. only a few inches

don't hate the bench! haha
 
me thinks im going to have to go down and get some lumber for my board presses. they sound fun...and challenging as well.

all in all sounded like a good day jeremy, good deal!
 
It's frightening considering he's only 15 years old.

I'm 17 and can't lift that much... at least haven't tried board presses yet. :)
 
Seriously...you guys should try board presses. I find that I like the 2 and 3 board presses the most though...

They are a lot different from rack lock outs...

They just do man. They feel totally different. You have to balance the weight even when they touch the boards. You don't have to maintain that kind of control when they come down to the safety pins.

Good work on the PR Jeremy.

6board is crazy. I never go above a 5 board and that is exclusively with a close grip for me, otherwise, the ROM would be nonexistant.

Bigokie does 6 boards but he is 6 feet 5 inches tall.

Keep hitting boards of different heights and keep setting PR's and you will be posting some monster numbers in no time at all.

My bench strength isn't that bad 225lbs x3 with 14 inch grip some 5 days ago, I just don't find it a fun lift that's all :)

i cant help CCJ(maybe if he was more feminine and lived in the U.S.) hehehe. , but Nonerz has some 2 and 3 board presses in her future. :devil:

shes a trooper, i'll try to get her more comfortable with benching. shes already a champ with DL's and squats (numerous variations).

her DL PR is pretty damn strong: 205. she banged out sets of 10 with 135 today like it was nothing, all sumo style (first attempt).
 
i hear you on the flexibility issue, coolcolj. i have to work on my arch. every time i bench, i try to arch a little farther and bring my feet back a tiny bit every time. that kinda makes me feel flexible. haha

6 boards for me is just a couple inches left at the top. i have benched before and not locked out at the very top so i thought that could use a little work. next week ME day is going to be 5 board, then the next one is 4 board, etc. can't wait to get my double d shirt, as soon as i get a little money. then i'm going to train westside every other week and on those other weeks i'm going to train militia style.

skaman, i didn't get it for christmas, but i worked out a deal with my grandparents. they ordered it yesterday for me but now i gotta do some work around their place. i think it's a good deal

they do assistance work like westside i believe. just a lot more board presses and a lot of shirt work
