ah shit I should have known that. It's a PA Right Hand film. The reason they use the right is because that is normally everyones dominant hand.

I am too but that really is the reason why the right hand is used. That's actually part of the history of Xray we learned in school

those first x rays of the hand with the ring are pretty cool lookin! They kinda have a ghostly appearance.

Yea Roentgen found it on accident which was even cooler. He just happened to notice the glow from smearing barium platinocyanide on a plate of glass I think.
The picture you're referring to was of his wife's hand that had her wedding ring that you see. He went on to create a show where the public could see inside themselves.
I seriously wonder how many genetic mutations could have been caused by all the overradiation of the public back in the day.
Hell they even had xray machines in shoe stores so they could get the perfect size shoe for you.
