So stoked today as I PR'd on bench today. I'm doing a 5X5 routine and repp'd out 255. Almost 100 lbs more than I am. Everyone at the gym was looking at me like I was on something. Was such a great feeling because just 8 months ago I couldn't get 155 up. God I love lifting.
 
great job, my dad has seen good results from the 5x5 as well. I would use it again, but i can never stay on it long enough because of lacrosse, so I cant get the full potential of it.
 
5X5 routines are great for strength. I haven't been able, however, to gain much size. I need a higher rep rate, 5-7, to gain appreciable mass.
 
I want to be repping 315 by next year. This is my goal for next april when I turn 21 or by next august when my sister gets married. I also want to get to 175 by next month or the next just for shits and giggles, but I have the hardest time gaining weight.
 
Nice one. I hit a PR of 230lb on the bench on Saturday (1 rep max). :) Prior to that, I was stuck at 210lb for ages and ages. Just seemed gain a load of energy and power on Saturday for some reason! Hopefully it means ive moved on from that 210 sticking point.
