Chefwide, question bout freezing/re-heating rice & oats

Ok so how exactly do you do this. Speak to me in lay-mans guy cooking terms please.

Do you just toss the cooked food in zip lock freezer bags, then re-thaw in a pot of warm water? Does doing this lose any nutritional value or flavor?

I don't think you'd want to freeze oatmeal. It really doesn't take that long to make & I would think freezing it would make it gummy....

As for the rice, cook it, freeze it & just heat in the microwave with just a tad of water or broth.
