Does anyone has a cheater box for their digital cable? if so, are they legit, no problems? can it be traced? etc. Does anyone know a source?

there are no digital descramblers.
but regular cable descramblers do work. $220-$310 for a nice universal unit.
as for satellite, directv, if you bought one late '98, june i believe, you got the new "hu" cards, which can not be hack, yet. it was released in europe 3yrs before it hit the us.
if you got a card with a picture of a football player youre out of luck.
if you bought directv before june98, you got the old "h" card, now that is gold baby, it can be hack, free satellite for life. and that includes all porn all day.
the "h" card has no picture, just says "dss access card" on the front.

Rush, you can still get the "h" cards for the new systems, but they will cost you a pretty pennie. Also, there is supposed to be a digital cable descrambler out by the end of this year.
Digital cards / descramblers are available for UK systems but not sure if they are the same as US.
The companies send a new scramble message every month and so you have to enter the new code (easily downloaded) and entered in parental lock.
Works a treat and not traceable hope you get in the US soon.

i have one here in canada. they will run you initially anywhere from 500 - 700 canadian funds, which includes the satellite and the card. After that, if your card is hashed like when direct tv sends out signals to screw things up, you gotta get it reprogrammed.

From what I understand this is whats happening.....
The older H cards (16 bit) are easy to reprogram and can be unlooped.
The new HU cards (32 bit) are also easy to reprogram but I think there are only a handfull of unloopers out there right now. I know there are only like 2 or 3 in Canada right now and are selling for about $10 000 . Give it a few months (6-10) or so and there shouldn't be any problems getting your card unlooped.
I can get a satellite and the card (32 bit) for $400 and maybe cheaper. It would cost me an extra $200 for the 16 bit card.
