Changing Avatar - won't work.

Hey, I was so happy that the Avatars were funstioning! I tried to change mine this morning, and it won't update to the new one!
What's up?? Anyone? Anyone?
 
There's a thread last week some time from EFChris blaming the software and yadda yadda...

Mine won't update either and I want a new Armadillo...
 
hey Y, last night your armadillo was laying on its back. That is when I logged in from my PC at home...

My avatar is set to an armadillo that's a dead ass one in the EF options control panel.
The one sniffing the grass I see is the old one...

We control the audio, we control the vertical and the horizontal....

Y_Lifter, I saw that avatar last night, but today, it's the live armadillo...

Ok.. I switched over to Netscape and I'm seeing my new Avatar.
dead armadillo.... Aren't dillos da bomb?

I would guess it is a stored cache issue on the IE browser.
 
If you don't see your changes, you're Netscape or IE is showing you the old version from Cache.
Just stopping and starting a new Netscape won't be enough to clear cache since cache is on disk.
In Netscape the "clear cache" is under "Edit -> Preferences"
not sure about IE.

I see my Old avatar on IE and my new one in Netscape.

I cleared the cache on IE and still no change of avatar. :bawling:

Looks like I'm using Netscrape until I figure this shit out...
 
I don't use IE much but try
View --> Internet Options --> General -->
Temporary Internet Files --> Delete Files
And you might consider Settings-->
Check for newer versions "Every visit to page"
but that will slow down your browser if you have a slow connection.
 
The browser is supposed to check the web site so see if anything on a page has been updated or changed since the last time you visited it.

Netscape is able to tell the avatar has been updated and shows it.
IE can't see that it's been updated and shows the old shit for some reason is guessing.

Call out the hounds.....

Dude, fid a small Jpg or Gif picture and size it using Windows built in editor to be 100x100 pixels and upload it in the Options panel...
 
HOLY FUCK!!!! It wouldn't work until I changed the settings to Check every time I visit the page little deal there under temporary internet files.

FINALLY....I HAVE AN AVATAR!

My Options panel wouldn't give me the option to do that until I did what John937 told you guys to do.

John937 is my new HERO.
 
I still have issues..
Clicking Refresh button would do the same thing as setting the above option for every time.
I already had that option set for every time....
I still screwed in IE.. but hey Netscrape is working like a $5 ho..
 
go to change avatar and then change it so you don't have one. Log out and then log back on. Go to change avatar and put the new one in....it worked for me.
 
Thanks Buck,, I'm now skippy in both IE and Netscape.
New Avatar is there after setting to no Avatar and putting the new one back???

I'm always full of knowledge.....just don't share it much. I use the chat board for entertainment. What position do you play in hockey? I've never played (I got an offer from the military to play though)....I can't skate. Is it hard to learn how to skate well?

thanx for the advice. The only reason I thought about playing is cuz I LOVE to hit people!!! I'll be out of the Marines in less than 11 months and will be playing college football!!! :)
