cereal, what would be my best choice?

ok, i am going to start a maintenace diet soon and i have decided as my first meal to have 2 cups skim milk with 2 cups of some sort of cereal that has approx 25-30 grams carbs per serving size of 1 cup. i know cereal is not the best choice, but i love it and i have fit it into my macronutrient breakdown and total cals and the other 5 meals of my day are solid so i dont think it will hurt. i dont want to eat any of that kashi cereals or fiber one, though other than those what should i look for in a cereal, i was just looking at around how many grams of fat and carbs per 1 cup serving and how many sugar grams there are making up the amount of carbs. with this i have come to either maybe something like cheerios, total, special k, things like that. is there anything that i should look that would make one better than the other, or does it really not matter? can i just get whichever i want for the weak? or would like a bran ceral be better than an oat types ceral.
 
My personal favourites are Lucky Charms, Captain Crunch, Cocoa Rice Krispies and Apple Jacks. They all have about 30 grams of carbs per servings and not much fat. Lots of sugar though, but what the hell, they taste good!
 
If you're doing maintenence pick you favorite cereal. For me, that would be either Count Chocula, Waffle Crisp, Cap N Crunch... too many. Don't go crazy thinking a little sugar in the morning will turn you into a fatass.
 
HAHA this has changed to the favorite cereal thread.

For me it is Fruity Pebbles or the new Oreo cereal.
 
Post workout, I sometimes eat honey nut cheerios, in the morning, I like wheaties but you are looking at 43 grams of carbs per cup so that puts you out of the range you are looking for. Life cereal is pretty good for what you are looking for (I think 25 grams carbs, 9 grams sugar) per cup.
 
I was in the store today, and noticed that Post Shredded Wheat shit is better for you than a frickin Powerbar! It's got carbs and fiber, no fat, and 6g protein a bowl. Now, my question is, does it taste like complete shit? I'm about ready to cut out cereal completely, and just eat oatmeal only, but if this stuff didn't taste worse than Wheaties (the worst tasting cereal I'll eat), I might try it.
 
guys you have to try the new

grapenuts Flakes, they are so goooooood, and lots of fiber, good carbs.
if its to bland i guess you could put 1/2 tbl sp of sugar on it.

I think Shreaded Wheat is worse than wheaties but what do I know, I like wheaties. The Wheaties Energy Crunch is really good but has about 12 or 13 grams of sugar so a lot of people will not eat it.
 
I like Cheerios and Kix for taste and nutrition... it allows you to eat a high quantity with less calories.

As for my favorite? Well, I want to try the new Spiderman cereal. Count Chocula is always good as hell.
 
just go with oatmeal, also a low cal cerial is puffed wheat. i think you have to eat the whole damn box to get to 30g of carbs though.:D
 
Try these

Wheat Chex, shredded wheat, maybe some honey nut cheerios(depending on how stringent your diet is)

My choice is Reeces Puffs
 
I found this cereal called Protein Plus, it had a soccer play on the box, had like 13 g of protein a serving and a 40 30 30 ratio. tasted real good too
 
Grape Nuts rule. Others are Smart Start (my girlfriend's favorite and it's surprisingly good) and some of those "nut" brands (i.e. Blueberry Nut, Banana Nut....tasty stuff). :spin:
