Cell Phone question

What is the easiest way to change my cell ohone out for a new one.

I have a motorola v400 and i dislike motorolas. Flipphones/the rings/the style.

my friend bought a nokia 6230 i believe and it can capture video/better pictures and I have actually always been a Nokia type person.

I hear i can buy a brand new nokia on ebay cheap then put my GSm card from my v400 into it and within a day or two the nokia will be my new phone.

Will this work?

Yep, if you buy a new GSM phone you can put your sim card into the new phone and use the new phone immediately. Some ppl who have more than one phone switch back and forth - my sis and I would sometimes use each other's phones. She'd just out her SIM in my phone and mine in her's.

Only thing is, some phones are locked to a specific provider. For example, Cingular may lock their phones so that Rogers (Canadian provider) users can't buy a Cingular phone and use it on Rogers. In that case, you have to get your phone unlocked (which is pretty cheap anyway) and then you can use it with any provider you choose
