Celebrity Strength...

Anyone Know about celebrities in the gym.Strength wise....This is just for curiosity....

The Two I know to be a fact are

Jesse Ventura max bench=440lbs
Dave Draper=450 max bench

Those are really the only 2 I know to be fact.

I personally have witnessed:

Gary Strydom leg pressing 14 plates per side for sets of 10

Lou Ferrigno incline db'ing the 150's for sets of 12 or so

Jeff Poulin stiff deading 315 for sets of 10

....all 3 days b-4 the 93 Olympia

i read somewhere that will smith was benching 325 while training for ali

I read about that. I think the actual number was closer to 250lb. It definitly not in the 300's

I watched something on russell crowe, and he said that he trained really hard for the movie la confidential. He bragged that he got really strong and got his bench to 225 lbs. Crowe looks like a pretty big dude and i thought he would have been a lot stronger.

Pounds as in "Pounds"?
or pounds as in that funny British money?

Did he display this studley prowess to you all in person ?

These claims are all meaningless unless they declare whether it is free weights or machine. I've worked with some machine bench presses that were just very easy for some reason.

Bench pressing is the least valuable strenght exercise in the real world in my opinion. I have NEVER employed bench pressing skills in the real world. Maybe a transmission mechanic working out of his garage would.

Bench pressing REALLY favors those with short arms.

OK...I don't have a great bench press though I could if I used machines.

Dead lift...now ther is a true strenght exercise.

I can do reps on the adductor machine like crazy..

you too huh? Sometimes when waiting for an adjacent machine, lat pulldown, I will crank out 50 reps with 250(whatever max is) on the adductor. Or maybe it is the abductor?

Am I the man or what??? :D
