How likely do you think the the us will adopt the same security levels as in england with cctv ?What are your opinions on this ? do you really want the government watching you all the fuckin time ?

No - would prefer to keep some of my life private. HOWEVER - from what I can remember from being in England last year, the cameras were setup around public areas (high foot traffic). This I have no problem with. Hell - this was done at the last Super Bowl (along with face recognition technology).

As long as the cameras aren't pointed in my window - use'em.

I was watching a special on tlc on cctv and they had on of their cameras looking into a persons apartment, now that is bullshit.I agree that cameras equipped with face recognition should be placed in public areas to deter crime

they stuck the CCTV cameras up on 'the quiet' on a much more reigonal scale, with private firms being hired by councils to stick thm up in areas which are fairly urbanised. this way they could get them up round the country, in schools, train stations, town centres, residential low income areas etc without a huge amount of attention featured on them. people were originally worried but were re-assured 'it was for their own saftey' where in actual fact its made less than huge inroads into crime

now they bring out the face recognition after the setting up of the infrastructuire for a nationwide CCTV netwrok without even a hint from the media about it.

at the superbowl they scanned every ticket holder without their knowledge. they found 16 minor criminals but chose not to do anthing
