If I had to throw my 2ccs in here... I'd have to say that reports of the holocost are UNDER-exaggerated. - meaning, I believe that more people died than were actually accounted for. Not just German-Jews, but Russian, Polish, etc...

My ancestors went through this on the German side (as MTSW's did)... can't say I'm proud of that either.

I believe every word of what happened there, especially when it is recounted by individuals that WENT through it, for NO other reason than to tell what actually happened there.

As for killing off free labor? I don't think toward the end of the war the Germans cared too much about "free labor" but more about killing off the Jews...

Many of the problems in Post WW1 Germany were blamed on the Jews... who had, to my understanding, most of the money in Germany... Hitler used this to keep the German pride up... Germans bought into it... and actually believed that it wasn't THEIR fault their country was devastated, but the JEWS fault...

It really did feul the whole war machine...

With that being said... I have nothing but utter compassion for any family member of the Jewish community who had to endure going through such a tragic event... and their families as well.

i think the main problem lies in the fact that many people will allow NO discussion of any "facts" about the Holocaust. that combined with the idea that the holocaust is different, worse and more tragic and unique than any other human tragedy in human history, leads people to become suspicious when one of the holy "facts" is so obviously proven wrong. It makes you wonder, what else has been falsified?

The problem with jews in Germany in the twenties and thirties, was that they were anti-German.
