catapres

Start off with 0.1 mg twice a day for two weeks, then re-check your blood pressure. If you need more, go slow and in small increments -- 0.1 mg per day. Give two weeks between each dosage adjustment for the effect to stabilize. Also, if you end up taking more than say 1 mg per day, don't stop taking it abruptly because you may develop rebound hypertension. It needs to be tapered off if you have built up to a high dose. I would recommend you do some more research into the drug before starting it. It acts mostly in the brain stem to produce its effect, and it's a potent, excellent drug, but it can have some side effects you should look into, most notably dry mouth, dizziness, depression, nervousness. When taken acutely it stimulates GH release, but over any sustained dosing this effect disappears. I doubt it would be worth taking this drug for the GH effect, but it's a good antihypertensive.

I've heard of the rebound hypertension that can occur with the use of catapres. Now the rebound would be caused by abruptly discontinuing the drug without a sustained tapering period? How does your BP levels look after the discontinuation of catapres, after correctly tapering? Are your systolic/diastolic readings lower than before beginning therapy, after discontinuation?

no....catapres has no permanent effect. The other stuff said by amon is right on the money. The effects are not limited to the brainstem however, and clonidine and other alpha 2 agonists have a general autonomic nervous system calming effect.

in a cycle of primo, anavar, winny and proviron is it a good idea to add catapres in at .1mg in the morning and .3mg in the evening. i have high bp. thanks

Just one more thing. Catapress has a side effect..... it increases HGH in the system. I like that. Whether the increase of the HGH in the system will do any good I don't know. I'm now hearing that HGH won't do shit unless another hormone is suppressed.
