cast question

So i broke my ankle the other week and its gonna be atleast 3 months of having a cast on my leg. ive already accepted my legs will get weak but im going to continue upperbody as soon as the doc says i can start up.

my question is for lifts like pull ups and dips will having a cast on one side effect which sides muscles see more work. or will crossing my legs eliminate most of the lopsided weight?

crossed legs should be fine, I mean how heavy is a cast - 4lbs max?

Good job on being proactive whilst recovering. Set yourself a goal to achieve before the cast comes off, like 30 chins in one set or 100 chins and dips each in the same workout.

You could do leg presses with your one good leg and increase the intensity with the rest of your workout. There are some studies out there that show training the good body parts during recovery will lesson the strength loss to the injured leg.

I would recommeand Sitting Good Mornings.
Just for not loosing to much strength in your lower back.

Greetz and good healing,

C.
