Cardio when Bulking?

Hey, Im trying to gain weight/mass. When bulking should i keep doing my cardio? right now im doing hiit about 3x per week, im about 150-155 lbs and im tryin to get to about 165-170 lbs.

I hope you're not doing HIIT sprints 3x a week. If you are, I'd cut it back a bit. That shit'll beat you up pretty quick if you're doing it right.

Make damn sure you're eating enough. Just use 20x your bodyweight in calories. It's a rough figure, but if you're younger (I assume so, like myself), are very active during the week, you're going to want to eat a ton.

Always do cardio, though. Bulking or not - cardio is good for you. Unless you had some type of circuit lifting routine, you're going to want to do something like cardio for your heart and longevity.

Yeah, hiit sprints bro >.<. Im thinking of cutting back to about 2x a week, cardio on tuesday and thursday until i reach my goals then ill start going back to my normal cardio schedule and try to keep my weight steady.

That sounds perfectly viable. Just make sure you eat enough and use an effective lifting routine, so you can get to your goals that much quicker.

Shouldn't be any problems with this, in fact, I would recommend it. IMO, a solid amount of calories will protect you from any overtaining. Just be sure make sure your HIIT doesn't interfere with your leg workouts. I've had cardio that has resulted in leg workout interference in the past -- not good.

I call bullshit. As long as you've got a caloric excess, you're fine. I've seen plenty of athletes do tons of cardio (football and wrestling drills and practice), and still add weight. These kids just eat a fucking ton. In fact, you're better off eating more and using cardio than not doing cardio and eating less. Not only for health reasons, but also for the burning of, oh jeez what kind've fat...subcutaneous? Either that or the other one. In any case, HIIT is fine during bulking.

Pesonally I dont do fuck all cardio when I am bulking, but whilst I get super large I end up looking like I am 6 months pregnant. If you want maximum size,no cardio. But if you want to keep trim do some cardio.I recommend minimal aerobic duties. All depends what your goals are.I want strength and size and as long as I am not a skinny little bitch and still have a chest I will be happy.I dont want to be to cut if it means I have to sacrafice mass.

I do cardio daily bulking or cutting.....only difference is length of time and intensity........knocked down from 35 mins of moderate incline walking to 25 minutes of higher intesity elliptical work........remembering it's 90% diet............Icould prob. do the same amount of cardio either way and just cut out the dairy/fruits/extra carbs when cutting to achieve the same results.........its always 1st thing in the am.......

I must admit though getting cut looks great and will most likely keep your motivation high because you can see better results.I have friends who are absoloute monsters and lift hideous amounts but still look fat(apart from telephone pole size arms)because they do not have strict diet or do cardio but also Id say genetics would play a big part in it for some people.

Yeah, but it's also difficult to stay lean while adding quality mass. It's possible, but certainly not an easy task. Basically, you'd need to cut down first, get fairly lean, and then slowly add 100-200 cals extra a week until you're steadily gaining weight without fat. Just takes paitence, I guess. I don't have that, so I probably couldn't do it.
