Cardio more than 1x / day

I gotta start cutting soon. My lifting schdule is M-W-F and my cardio schedule will be Sun-Tues-Thurs.

I am wondering if there will be any benefit to doing cardio 2x a day on Tues & Thurs. I'm thinking once at noon and once at 7:30 or so after work.

Do you guys think that is overkill?

seriously, cardio twice a day is a great way to loose size, fat too, but i care too much about size to lose any that i can avoid.

Even during my bulking periods, which are few and far between, I do cardio twice a day on Mondays..........once first thing and once before dinner (or meal #6)...........hit cardio first thing.......IMO it's the key........
 
if your goal is fat burning-- Id do cardio once a day for an hr or so at the track (instead of 2x/treadmill)-- you will get faster results on this routine:

4 - 400m sprints - 150 second rest - 100% intensity
3 - 300m sprints - 120 second rest - 100% intensity
2 - 200m sprints - 90 second rest - 100% intensity
1 - 100m sprints - 100% intensity
 
Thanks folks. Losing muscle is the last thing I wanna do. I'm still researching this whole 'cutting' thing. It's not something I've had to worry about before.
 
check out kakdielsels diet on the anabolic board, decent diet there.

I would only do cardio twice a day but walking a mod to low intensity for a few hours a day ,not running and not unless I was on cycle to cut up
 
Cardio twice a day is the ideal way of cutting in my opinion. You can split up the time and since you're cutting you're looking for time moving. Being able to split that up to say 2 25 minute sessions is much better than one 45. In more ways than just the 5 extra mins of cardio. We all know cardio burns long after you finish, so common sense shows that doing it twice ramps up that metabolism twice. If you can do it consistently you will see some great results. Keep up the good work.
 
I agree somewhat with Endo MD
1 session Sprinting
1 session Upper body sprinting, a machine that looks like pedal for you arms that has a resistance nob on it, very hard to find

Do HIT interval on that bad boy; disclaimer you need to be in real good shape before you try this or you won't be able to lift the next day

Wouldn't you be using glycolysis during this workout and not the aerobic system??

yes.. but thats what the OP is trying to do (I think) is burn fat...after the glycogen stores are used up- your body goes into its fat stores for energy.

it takes at least 20 minutes of cardio to burn off the glycogen-- so thats why I suggested a long duration/ high intensity workout. A better idea is to do your cardio post-weights-- than your primarily using fat-- not muscle.
