I'm 170lbs and I want to gain muscle but be lean.. Would it it be better to do high carbs, medium carbs, or low carbs?

It seems most people do high carbs then low on a cut but wouldn't a medium amount be best? Like around 200g instead of 300g+?

I was thinking of doing 200g carbs, 250g protein, fats will probably be around 80g or less.

My best bulking results came from using Mr X's bulking basics as stickied above. If your trying to stay lean try using moderate carbs with ALA.

I was thinking of going 60% protein, 30% carb, 10% fat.
I'm 170lbs, how many calories would be good?

I'm 17, dont really have money for supplements.

Ah 17, you dont even need them then (Im only a year older but I have a shitty metabolism).

20*bodyweight is a good place to start, get tons of sleep and you'll get swole.

Do you take flax or fish oils?

I think i'm gonna start @ 2500 and increase from there. Seems like most people go with an insane amount of calories and carbs and up gaining a lot of fat and dont even look like they lift weights.

As for strength, I don't think flax does anything in terms of strength. Supposedly the Omega 3 fatty acids can help you to lose fat. Either that or minimize fat gain. I know you really won't gain any fat from flax, even though it's pure fat. I can't give you detail on how it really works, because I'm not that knowledgable about this. Sorry.

I read a thread about its benifits on strength from bb.com, I didnt belive it either until I used alot of it...worked pretty well. I made gains on all my lifts.
