Can't get Directx 9.0c to install! Help!

xp pro w/ service pack 2.

XP service pack 2 has 9.0c in it so you should have it; maybe reinstall the service pack.

That would not appear to be the case, since I installed my OS directly off a disk w/ sp2 and tried both from disks I have AND from the net to install 9.0c but my dxdiag still reads 9.0b.

The ATI card is causing issues again, so I removed it and put my old geforce back in, and am downloading the drivers for it again.
