Thinking of going to Cancun in Dec - How long is enough time? Looking to leave 9 am Thurs (arrive 1pm) and then leave Tues afternoon.

What's everyones favorite place to stay (all inclusive preferred)

I'm goin' to the Gran Costa Real all inclusive this weekend, I'll let ya know how it is. I've stayed at Gran CARIBE Royale all inclusive before and it was fun. Thursday to Tuesday is plenty of time. That's 5 nights!

if you stay in the Xceret area, I'd recommend not only the Occidental Grand Flamingo but also the following:

The Xceret waterpark next door -- you can do this thing where you float down the river that runs the length of the park. It's way cool

ATV tour -- it's about 2-3 miles from the hotel. You want that one. You ATV, then swim in a Cenote, then ATV more, then visit a Myan cave/alter, then ATV back

Dolphin Discovery -- This is the tour you want. Foot-pushs *and* dorsal fin tows

From the Grand Flamingo, they can take you to their sister hotel that has a *ton* of jetski rental and parasailing

Captain Hook -- you have to drive or taxi into Cancun, but it's a dinner/party boat where you can drink & dance. It's a cute show.

You just have to be careful when you go high-end. If you aren't careful you can price yourself up and out of the "fun" people's market and find yourself in an incredibly luxurious place -- yet surrounded by old rich farts.

I've done that many times. Now, I look for low to medium range white collar spots!
