They can let in or deny entry to anyone they want. Clubs have done it for years. Playing the race card because you feel slighted is a poor hand every time.

I agree with Mountain Muscle that it is legal, but it's definately racist. I wouldn't call it racist if they were wearing gangsta garb and sporting grillz. But these guys were pretty clean-cut.

However, it is a private club's right to refuse service to anyone.

I've been to New York a ton of time and let me tell you, the people I know there are downright RACISTS! I was in upsate and some ppl I know there were openly calling blacks the "N" word or saying all Afgans should be tortured and killed. There is a lot of crime in parts of upstate and the crime is commited mostly by blacks. A good reason for the racism, I think!
When these same ppl I know came to Montreal, they were shocked that blacks had jobs in office's and banks etc....I swear to you this is true!
A whole different culture up in Canada. We love, not hate!
 
actually truth be told, the question is a rhetorical one, if asked, 'does rascism still exist?'

From a non white perspective, most white people are rascist to non white people. It don't matter if they deny it or not. I really respect outfront rascists more than hypocritical non rascists. Because the hypocrite types are actually cowards too and they are harder to deal with.

There are few little glimmers of hope, as some people i have met during my experience here in North America, are truely color blind. But they are ofcourse, exceptions.

People devote very little time when they are thinking of this issue. This issue, that goes much deeper that mere race. The question is of dominance.

I have ridiculed black people, who sometimes state in anger that slavery still exists. But on analyses, this slavery does in principal still linger, but is more illusive.

Human rights, tolerance, multiculturism is at most a pleasent dream if not means to manipulate "inferior" races.

Its a sad story really. And i don't see an end to it in my lifetime.
 
I could give specific examples of stuff that happens around here, but I would probably get dissed for not being pollitically correct so I will refraim.

I have a lot of family along Lake Ontario in NY and I don't see that racism that you are claiming occurs in Upstate NY. I see a lot more racism in both directions down here in the deep south.

Listen to the video again. If it's open to the public it's not a private club so they do NOT have the right to do that.

Ok

Well everytime a club opens up around here it starts out booming. Hot girls and all. Well it's always a matter of time before black guys start coming in considerable amounts and it's always the same thing.....they stay in groups of 3 or more and always have to ruin it for everybody. I have witnessed first hand a group starting shit with a skinny white guy who was there with a hot white chick. Another seperate incident had a group beat the crap out of another dude because he got pissed at them hitting on his GF right in front of him. There has been a couple of stabbings and shootings at the clubs in the paper and guess who was responsible?

All the cool clubs end up ghosttowns due to this crap.

Sure it's prob. just a few bad seeds, but this is what keeps stereotyping alive. I can't count how many times I've heard girls say "I want to dance but we are not going to ___ becuase I don't feel like getting groped and molested by a bunch of black guys"

Hate if you will, but it's just what I've witnessed around here.

Same this happened to me personally, I don't go to clubs much, but one time I was dancing, and this black guy walked in to me from behind and bascially said something really rude and unnessecary, me and my friends did go back to that club, they lost business because of this guy.

AAP, that happens around here also. Oddly enough I have no prob's with blacks. I am racist against others though. I find blacks (well up in Canada anyways) great! I've been harrassed by blacks, whites but mostly I've been gropped and harrassed by Lebanese men.
I hate feeling ill towards groups of ppl, but as I get older, I see the hate some cultures and races bring and it does make me dislike them

This is very true and it is a problem with every big city in North America. I have been robbed, beaten, disrespected by black people. In high school, it used to be crazy. Fist fights all the time. I am nice guy, but the attitude just killed me.

Now the nice thing is, the same black guys in high school end up being good friends with me, to this day. I meet some(from highschool) in the gym, and they are ready to lay down their lives for me. No jokes.

One day i am playing classical guitar in the cafeteria, and these bunch of black dudes playing dominos right next to me. They were the same guys i had been fighting all my junior years. They usually block the cafe door and make it very difficult for a guy to pass through, and if you pass aggressively, you are obviously in trouble.

So i would always push my way trough the door. But this time, they all gave me passage. And then i smiled and they did too. My music had some affect on them. That day we reconciled.

Later on i was a security guard for a while, and i learned a lot on that job about black people and how to deal with them, and believe me, the respect earned was mutual on both sides. Guys feared to work in the area i was working in, and all the drug dealers were obedient to me and that was pleasent. Sometimes(when i just started) they would take a swing at me, and i would duck and just hug them and ask them to calm down. Then i will let them talk and it turned out we got a sensitive emotional man, compared to an asshole gangsta wanna be on the surface.

Its hard to ignore the color in this situation. Say for example bad experiences in the clubs. But the problem goes deeper in social prejudices and black youth acting according to these prejudices. My biggest dissapointment lie in small elite class of black population. It seems like they have forsaken their own youth. It seems like they are the biggest rascist of them all, because they isolate themselves as much as possible from the lower class black population. And that is not good. On top of that, the examples set are horrible.

Also, the nightclub situation in the video. Calgary is a very white washed city. You would barely find non white people there. Especially in the club scene. Most immigrants there are family oriented who usually have very low paying jobs, and are probably working on the weekends to feed the family. But these youth are an exception. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them wanted to go to a club to enjoy themselves on the weekend. But look at it from a white man's perspective. And it sort of makes sense.

There are probably no colored girls anywhere in those calgary clubs. Believe me, some cities in canada are so dominantly white, that its freaky beyond belief. Regardless with no colored girls in the club, there will be obvious complications. Those colored men are obviously not geigh. So they would hit on the white girls!

Now some white girls don't like that. White boys would normally hate that as well. Its natural. That is bound to happen. So in case of this video, the experience that you depicted AAP, this exact experience have caused the club members to disallow colored people in the clubs. Some Aliens want to hook up with non alien females, which the native males would naturally hate. There is a great clash of status too, and for that reason, most of the native females would act negatively as well, even though they don't really have to. Now this creates a lot of frustation in the colored guy, because he doesn't look at himself as alien. This is is home afterall. He works and lives in that city. So all that frustration turns into aggressiveness eventually, and the colored male commits social suicide, and believe me, he knows what he is doing.

If these same guys bring their own girl along, colored girl or not, then there will be no problems at all. The problem is solved.

Its hard to ignore the color in a man. Its really hard. You have to learn to do that. And its liberating once you do.

look the crux of my arguement is this.

If you refuse to judge a black man with a prejudiced narrow minded attitude, against all your conditioning, and somehow you communicate this fact with the black man, he will open up to and show you a more humane side of him.

I learned this from watching a two black guys, who maybe friends talking to each other. Discussing random matters, and they were perfectly well mannered, good human beings. They know respect, friendship, honour etcetra. I wondered, why was it that two black men can be so frank and normal with each other, but always had to be aggressive with me.

And then it hit me. AHHHHHHH... A black man doesn't see the other with a discriminating eye.

The rest is all left to communication.

I met my wife in Kingston. Me and my friends (black and white, single soldiers) used to go to Stages, Dollar Bill, Cocomos. This was back in '88. It was always the same. Groups of guys, especially which include a lot of minorities and Americans, will have a problem getting in. Onesies and twosies, dressed respectably, not usually a problem, especially if you have been there before during the week and maybe gotten to know a bouncer or bartender.

If you show up with a date, never a problem.

Is it fair? Nope. Is it life? Yes. Ironically most of the music they play in the clubs is by black artists or has black roots.

The way we dealt with this in frisco was that we imposed a dress code. I had a couple fights at the door with black guys and latino guys that were offended by the notion that their plainly seen BVD's were the reason for their nonadmittance. White boys that came dressed like that never gave us any problem when we turned them away.

I feel the same way about Italian-wannabes. They stay in groups of 10, act macho, gang up, and start fights where they all kick someone when he's down.
The club I went to last weekend... fairly new.. great place to hang out, chill and friendly people when I was there last month. Last weekend, hundreds of the above turned up... swarmed the door.. shoving in the club.. fights.. broke through coatcheck started getting their own jackets till the bouncers intervened... and these weren't black, asian or lebanese..

It's a class issue, not a race issue.
