Canada/US customs

TNH

New member
Is it just as difficult getting gear into the US from Canada as it is from an overseas source? Are incoming packs from Canada looked over as closely as packs from a country such as England or Romania?

Gear is hard to get no matter where you are. It is always a gamble, so you must be willing to take part in the consequences. It is not so much customs that you have to worry about but it is also about the source. There are alot of scammers out there. So be careful!

Is this the TNH that used to go by the name TNH Racing on a board that got shut down close to a year ago?

yep, thats me. EZ shut us down a long time ago, and we have moved a few times since then.

I am from Canada and one of my sources is from the states, I have ordered from him numerous times and have never lost anything to customs.

So, to answer your question "Is it just as difficult getting gear into the US from Canada as it is from an overseas source? Are incoming packs from Canada looked over as closely as packs from a country such as England or Romania?"

It is much easier to get gear from the US to Canada or vice-versa than into either country from overseas.
But, as Namu pointed out, there is always a chance it could happen.

U.S. customs considers some countrys high risk and others low risk, depending on the amount of contraband they export to the U.S. For example, if you're receiving a package from Bolivia it has a much higher risk of being molested by customs than a package from Switzerland. M'kay.

There is a heavy volume of business mail from US to Canada & vice versa. I would say the chances of a pkg getting thru are much higher in either direction than with packages from overseas. And now with the new problem of foot and mouth disease... overseas packages may be checked more often.

I have lost all kinds of packages coming from four different countries over the years. So, to me there is no safe bet from canada either. I think its worth paying a US source a couple more bucks for the security of delivery reasons but there is always those assholes scammers out there.
