Can you recommend BCAA's

Hey all

I want to get some BCAA tabs. Anybody take them- what brand do you prefer?

I know there were just 15 threads on BCAAs- I am just looking for a specific brand recommendation.

Thanks

Don't bother to buy BCAA pills. It is a waste of money. Just consume plenty of protein every day and you'd likely be intaking all the aminos you need. You need to take between 1.5g to 2 g of protein per pound of bodyweight. Stack it with creatine. For creatine i like "cell tech" because tastes good. I've tried different brands of creatine such as SCI FIT and SCI TEC but the taste is no good.
Find a good quality protein, such as 100% Protein from Optimum Nutrition and have 2 or 3 servings a day on top of 3 or 4 plain food meals. Drink a gallon a of water a day.

BCAA's can shine when on intense dieting, like contest prep. If this is the case for you, I would recommend Scivation Xtend(they did a great job with flavoring, the watermelon is awesome) or Glutamine Select with BCAA's by Beverly. Both are great, and note both contain B6 which is essentila for BCAA uptake.

Thanks for the replies, guys..

I am not dieting, but I was looking to an alternative to carrying my shake to campus with me. I thought if they we're interchangeable, it might be easier to carry a few pills instead of a shaker bottle.. oh well..

BCAAs and EAA's are totally different things. :mix:

Ok.. so what does that mean? Should I have not even thought about taking BCAAs instead of protien powder? Where would I be getting the EAAs from? My protein has BCAAs in them..

Can you please expand on your statement>

Essential amino acids cannot be made by the body. You must get them from complete protein foods or combinations of incomplete vegetable foods. There are 9 essential amino acids: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, and valine.

/bcaa's on the other hand are metabolized in the muscle instead of the liver. This is what makes them such easy prey when dieting, why they can indeed be useful at this time. These are but3, L-Valine, L-Leucine, and L-Isoleucine.

i geuss i need to look into this more.. bcaa's vs eaa's, which to take around my workout..

thanks for the info
