Can Steroids permanently cause low test levels?

If someone is prone to hypogonadism, I would imagine that aas would greatly affect the problem and magnify it. If someone is already producing very low t levels with a weak system aas would probably inflict some serious damage.

Well to answer you question, yes. Yes they can. The abuse of very powerfull androgens especially very high doses of testosterones, nondrolones and the likes of Anadroll 50 etc, can permanently affect the feedback loop and your pituitary gland, hence you will never achieve normall test levels and they will always be depressed. This is a fact. Ofcourse for this type of damage to occur you need a long time if ABUSE of the before montioned compounds. The problem can get so bad that not even HCG or Clomid can premanently "fix" you.

Interesting...I just got an email from an old friend that used to lift/juice with me. He has a kid on the way and hasn't cycled in two years.

You are confusing low testosterone with low sperm count. That is a stupid argument. How did Flex Wheeler get his wife pregnant? And when you say your friend juiced there are few things to consider
1. lenght of time juicing
2. brakes in between
3. cycle duration
4. compounds used
5. his genetics.

So if someone let's say cycles on and off for 6 weeks at a time and then for 14 months and then takes off for 3 months and then cycles for 18 months will they get their natural test back?
Why yes I did as a matter of fact. Sperm count normal range and test levels normal range.
The answer is there is no answer. Some guys come back after many years and some don't. But most do come back to normal.

Man people missunderstand me all the time. I said the test "CAN" stay low but did not say "WILL". But the posibility is there. Not in all cases though. Besides the only way to tell is to have a serum count done before you ever juice and then some time later. So your levels may still be low but in the normal range. You estimation is by no means "scientific".

I don't estimate anything. I have all levels of test, DHT, estradiol, estrone, tested every 8 weeks a full liver hep panel every 12-16 weeks. 2 echostress cardiac exams per year. My sperm count was measured before and after my cycles and once in between. That was why I took 3 months off, it's take three months to get an accurate sperm count.
