Can steroids cause hypoglycaemia?

Ive always suffered in the past, with these giddy spells, where i go all faint, vision goes funny, my arms go heavy and i feel weak and sick, and come out in a cold sweat and just have an instant craving for sweet stuff and food in general...

Id get it for a few months, the it would go away...

Id been to the doctors and had numerous blood tests, im not anaemic and im not diabetic, im 100% fit and healthy according to my test results

I always eat healthy, balanced diet, plenty of veg, potatoes , meat, fish, im not one who reguraly stuffs my face with pizza and takeaways...

I decided to purchase a one touch ultra blood glucose monitor, used by diabetics, and the past 2 days ive been testing myself at random times of the day... before eating i can never get higher than 4.0 on the meter, after eating 4.4 if im lucky...

When i wake up, 4.4 again

I have read up on low blood glucose and ive got 80% of the syptoms, my doctor doesnt want to listen to me, and it said one of the reasons its caused is by serious liver malfunction?

I take dianabol 30mg tabs a day and 1 x sust a week.. before i go armed with my evidence to the docs again , will the steroids make it worse? or be causing it to go tits up again?

Thanks

Stay away from insulin.

A vet might be able to answer more, but thats something major you need to know. Insulin can cause it and even kill you. It should ONLY be used if diabetic unless you have been in the game a LONG time and are willing to take the risks.

I believe, and I could be mistaken, than androgens can make hypoglycemic effects worse. I believe it has something to do with increased insulin sensitivity, therefore even a bit too many high glycemic carbohydrates can cause your body to release a lot of insulin and thus your glucose level will drop very quickly.

Therefore,

You should stay away from all high glycemic carbohydrates, and eat a well balanced diet. A mixture of protein and fat with carbs will slow down digestion and make even high glycemic carbs effect your blood glucose level slower. But, I would just stick with low glycemic carbohydrates and try to keep a steady influx of them throughout the day. For example, eat old fashioned oatmeal with peanut butter and whey protein powder in the morning, then eat brown rice with your next meal 3 hours later etc...

I suffer from hypoglycemia as well, and it is not fun. But I have been able to 100% control it with diet.

I will say, when I am on heavy androgens such as tren, and have a hypo-caloric diet, my symptoms worsen. Hope this helps.

AVOIDING high glycemic carbs will help. Ive experienced hypo glycemia on and off for years (EVEN WHILE OFF ASS) and found the best way to control was through proper diet and the RIGHT carb choices.

Thanks, my doctor did say about eating slow release foods, like brown rice, is there any other good ones?

cheers

Brocholi, Lentels, Oatmeal, Barley, whole grain non-processed cereal like steel cut oats, apples, peaches, pears.

that happens to me after I drink my 140g of wms, and then my 75g of whey.. like 45 min after both shakes are down I get this crazy craving for food with carbs.. almost feel sick if i don't eat.. rice and chicken works ok for me.. or a couple of rice cakes with some pb, or some banana's and steak..

I have noticed winstrol seems to mess with my insulin levels .
usually 2-3 hours after I take 50mg orally I get flushed in the face and light headed.
I eat a simple carb and feel much better,

most AAS cause disregulation of blood glucose to some degree. in physiologic doses they improve glucose regulation but at supraphysiologic (bb) doses they cause extra insulin secretion which can result in mild-hypoglycemia as well as insulin resistance.
