this will be the only time i do this can i boil the needle and syringe to clean it and reuse it again i have never reused my needles or syringes but i need to this time to start just once the neeble was kept in its case and stored in a clean box give me some advice on how to clean and sanitize thanks

Well this is dumb because you can clean it but you can never sharpen it, once it's dull it's dull, and yes even if it was used only once. And we know dull needles can cause build up of scar tissue. Don't swab it with cotton and alcohol, the cotton will leave fibers on the pin, which will be in yor ass. If anything let it sit in a sterelized try with alcohol. New needles cost what? $.50?

Buy a new box of needles, they are much cheaper than getting an abscess removed.

If you absolutely insist on reusing the needle, a 10 to 1 bleach solution will kill all the germs that might be on it.

Don't risk it, buy somemore for god's sakes.

This is what I did when I had to. Next time I will make sure I have 20 or more needles for a cycle (when only once weekly shots.) Held the needle (not plastic syringe -- it maight melt) in boiled water for 20 seconds or more. Took some water into syringe and expunged back right away (again you don't want the plastic syringe to melt at all.) Then held the needle 20 seconds in rubbing alcohol to further disinfect. That's what I did. And, yes, it does get dull. If I had several old needles, I would use whichever have been reused the least. I injected into thigh because of no body fat under the skin. So I didn't have to push through fat with a dull(er) needle. This is what I did with no problems. I don't know anything about using bleach so cannot say. I'm not telling you what to do, but only what I had to do when in the same position. I rubbed alcohol on the inj site prior. I even put needle into hydrogen peroxide after the alcohol. I did not want to take any chances. Hydrogen peroxide is an anti-infective for when you get a cut, so it made sense to use also.

i ahve done it numerous times when supply of needles were short. what i did was used alcohol and to disinfect it. i would take the whole syringe apart. then put it in a cup of alcohol let it sit for a while. then take it out. to make sure the needle was clean even on the inside i would suck up the alcohol with the syringe then shoot it back out. it works this way but it stings a little bit more then next time around due to some of the alcohol still being in there. i wouldnt recommend people doing this but u gotta do what u gotta do u know. i know people who have done this too that ive told this about and they never had a problem with it
