How many calorie do ingest daily ?

Please say, wether you're cutting, maintaining or bulking

and your stat are welcome :)

I shoot to eat anywhere form 3000-4000 but I dont really know how many cuz there is no labels on the food that I eat. But I try to eat as much (as long as it is pretty clean) as I possibly can!!!!!

currently
25 y/o, 6' tall, 192lbs, about 11% BF

dont know if you want ot call my diet cutting, but more of a maintaining, while shedding a little fat! nothing real serious though!

2000cals - cutting. But I zig-zag between 1500 cal days and 2500 cal days.
5'11", 205lbs 10%bf

These numbers could be misleading b/c I do not include into the equation how many calories I burn if I do cardio that day, nor the cals burned during lifting.

I've never counted a calorie in my life......I shoot for my protein goal in grms first and then everything else is fair game......carbs are counted only at night......fats are well, fats.....

I used to flip out when i ate over 5,000 calories per day.....but I realized that if i average 3500-4000 calories per day i don't gain weight (fat)

I run 30-40 miles per week sometimes more sometimes less and lift 4x per week. I'm 5' 10" 180lbs and naturally pretty lean

5'4 female back on cutting again (was on for 8 wks, off for about 3 to reset everything, now back on), so I'm at about 1200-1800. I don't keep track of that on a daily basis though. I counted up the "usual" stuff I eat on an average day once and that was about 1350.

on/off?

I get about 1.5g per, on a perfect day.........which normally is M-F......I'm actually more busy on the weekends and sometimes I get only 1g.....

2300 cal, 172lbs, 5'10, maintaining.

You're maintaining at only 2300 ?
It is not a lot

You're right, it is low. Plus, I do cardio everyday. I think most people's actual maintenance calories are a lot lower than they think (probably not as low as mine though - lol).

The issue is that you may also have lowered your MBR by eating few calories

I started much higher and gradually worked down until I cut fat. I was never in a rush to lose fat so I didn't just substantially cut calories one day. Regardless, with my diet the lower BMR just makes my meals go by faster; I don't eat for good taste. ;)

Based on this post and some of your others, I feel sorry for you. Life is to short not to enjoy good food.

It's reasoning like this that makes people fatter everyday. Clinton subscribed to your philosophy and need a quadruple bypass and was out of shape most of his life. Perhaps NJ chooses to be in shape all the time rather than eat unhealthy foods. My guess is he feels sorry for those that are in poor shape because they can't give up the few minutes of pleasure they get from eating tasty foods. Try eating only for nutrition for a year and you wont even derive pleasure from greasy, high fat, highly processed foods.

There's nothing wrong with treating yourself every ones in a while. Good tasting food does necessarily mean greasy or processed either. But fat carries flavor so some fat is needed. You post seems stereotypical in that you don't name any foods that you say leads to a quadruple bypass surgury.

It's all a matter of perspective. The typical Walmart shopper (very fat) would say that the typical Elite mentality of indulging once a week is too extreme and you're missing out on life because you cannot indulge your desire for tasty food everyday. They're right, each of you has strong cravings for tasty food everyday but you deprive yourself six out of seven days of the week (i.e. most of the time). How do I know that you deprive yourself? Because you have a need for a cheat meal. Now what you must also honestly ask yourself is whether you are satisfied with your current physique? If you are not then, in essence, you are depriving yourself of the tasty foods 95% of the time and you still don't look good. :)

I no longer have the desire for those bad foods. I simply eat to fuel my body (hence the name of my book "Eat to Fuel"). You can continue to feel sorry for me though. :)

I eat good tasting food daily....sure its not greasy ass burgers or pizza, but to me, a thick peanut butter flavored shake wih a bowl of peanuts is something to train hard for......my nightly staple!

I have whole books of cajun creole cuisine from cajun prime rib to crawfish etoufee to smoked andouille gumbo to shrimp fettucini alfredo that will make your mouth water and will not be 1. greasy or 2. processed

I can hardly believe that (unless you're not 100% human ;) )

The longer I eat clean the more I crave "bad" food

and, every day, I eat at least 1 tasty food
In part for my sanity

Hard to believe, huh. :) And I've trained others so there are more around than just me. ;)

I to am like you njripped, but i do not think that it worked to my advantage. I think that i seriously slowed my metabolism due to my dedication to not cheat, and always hold a perfect diet. Does anyone else feel like this?

Well, look at it this way: Your overall metabolic rate may be lower but because you are consuming quality foods (as opposed to processed junk) your are able to consume a higher quantity of foods since quality foods are much less calorie intensive. Although my overall metabolic rate is low (2300 cal), I am never hungry eating the foods I consume.

you guys that claim 4,000+ calories, will you post your stats and diets? I have a hard time believing one needs this many cals.........I'm on a pure bulking scheme and I probably am only taking in 3,800 -

I never ever cheat since I dont have cravings for bad foods. But I can probably take in 4000-5000 cals easy if I didnt watch how much I ate. And Im only 5 8, 150lbs...

cmon...lets see it.........

You're making a mistake by determining what your diet should be based upon unknown people refusing to post current pics on internet chat boards. How can you believe people who make claims that they can consume calories far beyond what experts in the field of nutrition have determined?

Why not just start at about 3500 calories and keep track of your BF levels. If you gain too much then cut down and if not very much then slightly increase.

I'm not determining shit man..........I want to see the calcualtion done on a 5,000 diet........it's sort of like people saying they are 9%bf when really they are 15% cause they have no idea how to estimate............

They'll never substantiate it. They'd sooner be able to show they were an internet billionaire. lol

I put 1800-2300. Currently cutting my fat ass (hopefully) to shreds in a few months. Usually get about 200g of protein, 30g carbs, 70g fat, 1500cal, which is temporary. I'm starting to throw in PW carbs and protein to put the total at 1800-2300.

Well I eat a lot of nuts since I love em. Thats prob why I get so much kcals. Then again Im only 18 so should really be watching my kcals? :P

Im starting my cutting tomorrow, and im getting just under 2000cals. right now Im 5'6 about 190 and prob 15-17%bf

my plan is cardio 3-4 times a week mod intensity for 30 mins and hope to get down closer to 10% bf, Im really tired of my family's eating habits and the shit food they consume because they are to lazy to cook,so Im taking a stand against it and doing things my way for once. im sure just cutting the shit fast food out will drop me considerably in bf

I want to see the diets of the 4 that are +4500 cals...I'm around 3,800+ and feel like a bloated pig........

I take in 2300 cals per day. Since you're an admitted "bloated pig," you probably shouldn't comment on those who take in less than 2500 cals. lol
