Calling .NET gurus!!!!

Have any of you guys ever deployed a windows forms application to a machine that does not have the .NET framework installed?

I have created a setup/installation project and enabled the detected dependency that the book said I needed for distributing to non-.NET machines, but I get this gay-ass error:

dotNETFXRedist_x86_enu.msm must not be used to redistribute the .NET Framework. Please exclude this merge module.

So how the fuck is the user supposed to get .NET framework on their machine? Download it themselves?

you could have an application missing.

go onto google groups or somthing and try to find a good .net group.

I have everything needed. The users don't. And you cannot expect users to install that kind of shit on their own. There has got to be a better way.
