I'm Net Eng also. My co-worker was looking to move to Florida for a few months and gave up. It seems there are not many opportunities there in our field. Would you consider relocating? There are jobs all over the country and overseas, but I dont know if you are willing to move. You may want to consider it...if things get really tight.

I would probably relocate but I would have to make some serious loot. Then again its difficult to coordinate everything and then there is no guarantee that I will get a job else where.

I was making 60k, this put a real hurt on my lifestyle.

I'm a net engineer.

NY city is the place to be for this: most money, most jobs. Florida is not. This is what I often tell my chick who is in Florida and wants me to move there.

I have some family in NY, Yonkers to be exact. How is the market up there?

I would not suggest moving down here anytime soon. About a year ago there were plenty jobs now this place is flooded with lay offs. What part of florida is your girl in?

Do you have any certifications?

So far I am A+, MCSE been in it almost 3 years.
