Just wondering i have a 1 dollar bill from 1957 , it looks completely diffrent then current bills, does this have any value?

Is it a silver certificate? What signature does it have on it? What kind of shape is it in ie. a lot of wrinkles or folds or is it crisp without folds? Need more info before I can tell you!

It looks completely diffrent then a new age bill , it says silver certificate where todays dollars say federal reserve note, where todays dollar has a letter (like f) the 57 bill has a 1 ,
Conditon is good , no rips, some creases/wrinkles

You are in posession of one of the LAST pieces of currency issued by the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT! Abraham Lincon was the last Pres. To officially issue currency and you have on of those certs that is backed by the silver used to to pay for the issuance.

But it says issued 1957 (my dad used to collect money when he was a kid ) is it worth anything

It's issue date is it's printing date. An "issuance" is a seperate deal. Trust me. I know the history of money.

1962 was when the Federal Reserve took over the Certs. That's when they were officially taken out of circulation.
