what are your max raw squats and the weights you guys use for speed squats?
 
lol......... im calling bullshit on ccj...... 900lb box squat...lol

4-5 inch below parallel box squat - 385 x 1.

1-2 inch below parallel box squat - 430 x 1

speed day - 225 with no bands

speed day - 185 with light bands.

raw? I never max raw, so I am just guessing based on my raw max box squat (660 or so) and my max suited squat (850 or so?). I would guess 700-725?

on speed box I have been using about 400 to 450 lbs of band tension at the top with about 315 lbs of bar weight.

I would suggest you go off of feel and speed more than a set percentage. If you are moving with good form and good speed for sets of 2 through a workout of 8-10 sets with 45 seconds to 1 min rest between sets add some weight or band tension. If you continue to have good speed and good form, add some more. Once you start to need more rest in between sets, or it becomes a movement that takes more than a 1.5 seconds or so on the concentric portion of the lift, I think you are too heavy for speed work. In my opinion, you don't need to move quite as fast when you have a lot of band tension because you are trying maximize force; F=ma. Because the mass is increasing dramatically with band tension, acceleration does not have to be as great to get a high force. It is a fine line. Too light and I think you are wasting your time. Too heavy and you are not getting the proper training result.
 
in that case..... my max squat in knee wraps and a belt is 455.

Not sure what my free max is... Pretty sure I could dunk 600. Heck...I've raw box squatted about that months ago when my hamstring was REALLY bothering me...

I go light on speed squats though. I use roughly 258-315 plus a combination of bands (heavies at the least...usually add in the lights or the mid bands). I do so much other work that I don't feel the need to go balls to the wall on speed squats.

Mine are actually to close. I dumped 500 not long ago on the box but managed 465x2 before that. As far as raw goes.. i dont have a clue, my best raw squat was 510 almost a yr ago.
