ok so today i went to get my hair cut at a new high-end salon (national chain). afterwards, the manager or whatever came up to me and asked me if i would be up for modeling for a photo-shoot. she said i'd be perfect for it, got my number and told me that they put on a modeling show later in the year too and that she would call me. so now i'm fucking psyched, i always knew i was hot, now it's just confirmed =).

so my question to you guys who have modeling experience is this: how did you get started? what should be my next step? any inside info on the business? thanx.

#1 - Got started like you, just by being approached.

#2 - Next step is if this venue turns out to be legit and only about 15% of them are... determine what you want to do with it. Clothing models are much more in demand. But you have to be a minimum of 6' tall and have little to no bulk or fat. Models for print work are scarce, mainly because you have to have great teeth and bone structure. Don't worry about hair or skin tone, that is all reconstructed and airbrushed.

#3 - inside info - bad attitudes and drug habits are a must... it seems. Avoid "model schools" or any other kind of place that want you to put up some money. No matter how little it is. They make money off the CLIENTS, not you. If anyone of them ever even brings up money, fees, or whatever, get up and walk out right then. They are not worthwhile. Don't fall for shit like "we teach you how to walk" or "we have to pay the client a fee to review your file" or "we have to pay for photographs" that is all bullshit. They bring you in and charge you $300 for a $40 photoshoot just because they throw some skin tone makeup on you and whatever. None of that changes your bone structure, which is the primary importance. My friend who is doing my photos for my website, he works with all the big name clients. If you get Revlon, Avon, Ralph Lauren Christmas magazines from last December, he did 100% of their entire projects. He has some of the biggest people around as his regular clients. Field and Stream, Paramount Pictures, Neimen Marcus, and handles 90% of the photo requests from Nitro Modeling (NYC) and Chic' (Atlanta). This guy makes $4000-$6000 per day that he is working so he knows the business inside and out. I can get more info directly from him. Give me the name of the city you are in.

I DID A LITTLE MODELING BUT NOTHING MAJOR. I DID SOME STUFF FOR A HAIR SALON ONE TIME. IT WAS PRETTY COOL. FREE HAIR CUTS. LOL.


NOT TO BE A DICK, BUT YOU DONT NEED TO BE ATTRACTIVE TO BE A MODEL. EVERYONE LOOKS FOR A CERTAIN LOOK. I KNOW A GUY WHO MODELS AND HAS VERY BAD SKIN AND TEETH. HE IS A BIG MODLE TO. MOVED TO MIAMI A WHILE BACK. AND IF YOU ASKED ME, I LOOK WAY BETTER THAN HIS ASS. LOL.

DONT GET ALL EXCITED JUST YET. IT TAKES A LOT (PLUS BEING IN THE RIGHT PLACES AND KNOW THE RIGHT PEOPLE AND LUCK) TO GET BIG IN MODELING. JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT FOR NOW AND IF THERE IS A CHANCE YOU CAN GO FURTHER, DO IT.

thanks for the reply aap. the thing is i'm not even close to being 6ft tall, they told me height does not matter for photos though, as that can be altered or whatever. they want me for some bigass posters they have up on their walls. anyway, i'm currently in baltimore, any more info you can get me would be much appreciated. thanks man.

I did a modeling gig for the Macho Extreme line of dildoes. They gave me some pills so the boner was so bad the veins hit max size and felt like they would pop. They helped me stay rock hard until the mold hardened.

It paid pretty good but I always wonder what people are doing with my likeness. Sometimes good thoughts, sometimes not so good.

Best thing about it is I immediately find where I stand when I talk to girls. I pull out the dildo and ask for their opinion. If they start sucking on it, I'm in business 100% of the time. If they run, I strike out.


I'd say dildo modeling is one of the best gigs though.

A hairdresser i used to go to offered me that once, but it was just a hair show, where the salon or hairdresser styles/cuts your hair and you model the cut for them.

i go to bars/clubs in the city with models and i get way more girls then them. i'm not saying i get tons of chicks but those guys get none. they usually wear pants that are so tight they would be able to pop a boner if they had to - at least the europeon ones

yeah they specifically said it was a photo-shoot for their posters, though i do think they also mentioned something along the lines of a hair show as well. in any case they're supposed to call me with details on both later.

That was my first thought.. because they use models to do hair displays and demos.

But real modeling... for print work, size is not important. Unless it is a group photo shoot or something. But singlely, size matters not the least. They look at jaw lineage, cheek bone position and prominence, eyes to nose measurements, eye socket contour..

The guy my friend used for a spot in Field and Stream was selected based solely on his forearms. You see the picture in the mag and he has a little vascularity, but only because they tied him off above the bicep. But he had the "right" look of forearm hair and masculine hands. You see nothing but his forearms and hands holding a tackle box.


Though dildo modeling is lucrative as well. Just don't go hawking that shit at Little League TBall games like Tboy did... saying it was the new rubber bat....

I've heard that about almost everything. Maybe its true about almost everything. Would not be surprised.

Some of the things docs have to do before their training is over is perhaps more humbling than what you spoke of. True dedication is needed.
