Caffeine, anti-catabolic or catabolic

most of the prewkout drinks I like have caffeine in em. sounds counterproductive to drink something that raises cortizol before your workout. guess I gotta finish the NO shotgun and try something else... Anyone have any ideas for no caffeine pre-workout drinks??

right. those companies dont give a hoot about quality products. they just throw some caffeine and sugar and sell it to people and people buy it thinking 'wow this stuff is great, it makes me wake up'

try this instead.

a balanced meal (perhaps some brown rice and veggies?)
3 caps unleashed
4 caps gear
glass of creatine

It does increase cortisol levels? Is it significant?

My two cents - no it is not significant. Just because something is detectable in trace amounts in a scientific study does not mean it is going to have a serious impact on lifting. I read in some stupid magazine the other day that "counting calories adds stress, therefore raising cortisol, so don't count calories because you will lose muscle and get fat." I'm paraphrasing, but I mean if you worry about every minute detail that could/could not, then there is no living life. If caffiene helps you workout, go for it. But what do I know - there is always another arguement the other way.
