cable vs satellite

dish network w/ the rigged box

every channel for 400 bucks.

no crappy cards to deal with like it was with directv

cable is a fuckin rip off, although i have it right now.

i probably wouldn't get satellite though if i lived in bad weather

Benefit of getting cable though is you get a good deal on the internet usually.
so a package bundle isn't bad.

The cable companies are getting killed on the capital market lately; I think any comparison at this point will be changing - they will be desparate in 2008-9.

You may want to wait a bit.

The bad weather is a nightmare.

Try enjoying a movie that you've been dying to see and the weather knock it off.

I hate the prices of cable and it is a rip-off but I will pay extra for the service and I will never go back to satellite.

what is a rigged box? I don't want to do anything illegal but cable is a rip off here

I want HD programming

Dishes in the rain suck. what happens if it is raining during the Superbowl and your local station isn't strong enough to get a good hd signal?

Cable is cheaper here than satellite. I have digital (HD) cable with HBO/movie networks and most channels, cable internet and VoIP for $100.

yep! after a year of the dish i am reluctantly back with cable.

Had a chat with one of the producers of Capital TV the other evening.
Told him his staff were very polite but his programming is mind numbing drivel and frankly I thought he was doing a disservice to his nation by airing that waste. He completely agreed with me but also pointed out that it was popular with the masses, every other channel was also as bad if not worse, and its making him a tidy fortune.

Same with the Pizza Company guy, he knows what he peddles appears to be pizza, but actually is shitty frozen junk food, but hey who gives a fuck, he just bought himself another private jet.

The majority of the available viewing is much the same, we'd be better off without it, besides with the internet we now have increasing control over what we choose to view whenever we want without switching on the evil box.

“television, the drug of the nation”

Despite paying $100 for cable I probably watch TV maybe 2-3 hours per week (and that is when boxing is not on so maybe add 3-4 hours if there is a fight).

I sometimes tune into the news and have one or two favorite shows.

I have directv with a umberlla and neve rhad a problem when it rains... Fuck calbe all the anagol channels

You dont have digital cable in your area ?

Phone, tv. etc...Love it.

My husband thought he wanted a dish. The dude came over and was all ready to install it. He, in passing, mentioned that we may want to spray non-stick cooking spray on the dish in the winter month's to keep ice and snow from forming. WTF? We told him we changed our minds. By the sounds of it, I'm glad we did too.
