.. i dont know where to post this so mods can u leave this here for a bit until u move it?

... just got done finishing my basement in my new house and built a rather large room for a gym.. i want to put some stuff in there including free weights.. where is a cheap place to buy equipment? i dont want the whole gym in one machine shit either. i mean this is a decent size room and i coule probably fit 5 or 6 machines in it.. also what machines shall i invest in?

thanks!

i would say def. a bench, power rack, roman chair w/ dip and station, seated arm curl station. Along with a set of olympic free weights and short bars/ or a set of dumbbells. Maybe some rubber weights for your deads and cleans and stuff.

pick up your phone book and find a commercial gym equipment manufacturer. make sure they have been doing it for a while and you can go and see some of their work (they usually take pictures of their past work and put it in some sort of file, in my experience)

i would be getting a good power rack with closely spaced holes, with a pull up bar welded to the top, as well as a flat and incline chair, so that you can use the rack to do your chest work, as well as some sort of custom cable station with pulleys top and bottom so taht you can do all your lat pulls/cable rows/cable curls/tri presses, and then a lot of free weight.

even though i have a huge amount of equipment at home, i still go to the gym though. i got bored, and missed the atmosphere, so think about it before you drop 3 grand

cheerios
