Buying chains, what should i get

What size chain? how long should each length be?

I use 2, 8ft sections of 3/8" chain from Lowes. Cost about $50 for both.

3/8" was the largest chain Lowes carried.

if you go to a tractor supply store you can find 1/2 chain for 2-3 bucks a foot. Not cheap, but cheaper and easier than ordering 5/8 ffom toppers supply as is says on dave tate's site. Unless you can find 5/8 at a tractor supply store, than that would be good.
